Celebrities, business owners, politicians, artists, models, etc. all in costume adopting alter egos and becoming an integral part of the entertainment. Q & A with Kevin Larson, Visionary, Creator, Designer, and Producer of the Victorian Fetish Ball
Tell us about the history of the Victorian Fetish Ball…
The Fetish Ball was born several years before the first one in Denver. My brother Eric Larson and myself created a Halloween Costume party. 15 years ago Halloween was not the massive holiday it is today. Most people had small house parties or went to the bars where it was 50% costume but not much different from a typical night. We wanted a place where everyone was in costume so the energy would build and people would take up their characters.
One of the first places was a haunted school house in Louvier, Colorado back through a forest that looked much like Sleepy Hallow. At that time it was a small but amazing crowd of about 150 people. Then 12 years ago I decided to go big and become an official event designer and promoter. I launched the first Victorian Fetish Ball taking over a nightclub on 13th avenue in downtown. We sold out the event with 550 of the Denver A-list crowd that cut loose for a night with provocative attire and love in their hearts. It was so slammed that even members of the Denver Post could not get in.
The next year we moved to a bigger venue, added 20 more performances including live gargoyles hanging from the rafters and sold out at 1,200 people. The ball moved each year to keep things fresh and exciting until we landed on the Diamond Cabaret where it found the perfect home. For the first time ever in their history the Diamond Cabaret closed their doors to the public so the Fetish Ball could occur. This gave us some phenomenal leeway due to the cabaret license. Yup, legal nudity!
Some 6 years later at the location we continue to sell out and have people that schedule vacations, surgeries, weddings around the date so as not to miss the excitement. The entire building is closed and we have to tent the parking lot for will call since there is not enough room. A not to be missed extravaganza of excitement and titillation.
What is different this 12th Annual Victorian Fetish Ball than previous years?
We are currently in the process of auditioning fresh new talent. Looking for unseen creative acts and refining acts that were loved by all. Airbrush your mate, Cotton Candy, Pole Acro, Body Art Blast. Not sure what those are?……. come to the Victorian Ball and find out.
You mention there is a new floor plan this year, what will be changing?
The maze of hallways is exciting and adventurous. There is an entire floor of fun and tables with vignettes that you can interact with.

I have been to about 5-6 of the balls and it is pretty mixed. It almost is two crowded sometimes and others it is just right.
There are a lot of awesome costumes so you better dress.
Drinks are $$$$$$$$$ so i hope they will think about providing an all you can drink option.
So far the best party in denver and the crowd is mid 20′s to early 40′s and mostly very attractive crowd.
